Where is the best place to put a roll-off dumpster?
Ideally, you want to find a flat area that has a few feet of clearance on each side of the dumpster. Also, a minimum of 22 feet of unobstructed height and 34 feet of unobstructed space in front for service pickup is needed. If a paved driveway is being used, consider putting wood underneath your rental to reduce the risk of damage.

Do I need a permit to rent a roll-off dumpster?
Generally, if you are planning to place the dumpster on a street, sidewalk or public property, a permit is required. If it is for your personal property or business, you don't need a permit. We can't speak for your neighborhood HOA though, they all have their own rules!
